Change is coming

Just called for Obama.

With November 4th behind us our country will take a new direction, a hard left turn with a murky future. Barack Obama favors bigger government and more social spending as an integral part of his personal utopian vision. But the larger issue is how fast and how far is he prepared to take us. His stated beliefs are a good indication that we won’t come to like it.

We now must be ever vigilant and offer no quarter when the legislation, judicial appointments, domestic and foreign policy decisions, sure to follow, are at odds with the rights and freedoms guaranteed by our constitution. Our new President elect has already pronounced our constitution “flawed” especially by the separation of power constraints. This is the most dangerous thinking of all, should these constraints be lifted our heretofore democracy will succumb to autocratic fiat by appointed judges who would be free to make a rule of law based solely on his or her political belief, bias and agenda.

Make no mistake, it has happened before, we all know the results of Hitler’s Germany, Castro’s Cuba and even now rearing it’s ugly head in Chavez’s Venezuela. The time for silence and “it can’t happen here” thought is over. IT CAN HAPPEN HERE! We must all speak up and let our representatives know that we the people will not tolerate anyone, any decree or legislation that will turn our constitution inside out and lead us down the path of destruction. If we are to be government of the people we MUST be prepared to TELL our government exactly what to do, not the other way around.

There is a movement curently under way in the legislature to abridge our rights and freedoms. Two such attempts are; eliminating the requirement of a secret ballot when voting on union organization. The secret ballot is a cornerstone of democracy designed to free us from intimidation, how in God’s name will eliminating the secret ballot improve the election process! Are we all idiots! By the way, whether you believe it or not the new voting system has already made inroads into abridging that freedom in our general election process, as there is now a “paper trail” that without much added design can identify YOUR VOTE! How easy is would be to correlate your place in the voting line with a particular ballot, and how about the ease of altering the computer programming to favor one selection over the other? Secondly there is a planned revival of the (un) “fairness doctrine” it’s intent being the exact opposite of it’s name in that it is designed to silence the voice of opposition to leftist politics, specifically conservative talk radio. Whether you think it can or can’t happen here or if you think that it won’t go any further, watch carefully and be prepared to make your voice heard. Remember, “God helps those that help themselves”.

“”First they came…” is a poem attributed to Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and the purging of their chosen targets, group after group(wikipedia).” He was an early supporter of Hitler who was later imprisoned himself for opposing state controlled churches.

“When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist

When they locked up the social democrats
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews
I remained silent;
I was not a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.”

Would we like it to read? – When they came for the conseratives ……

Think Before you Vote

Before casting your vote in today’s presidential election, please consider carefully whom you choose to elect. Emotion seems to be the dominating reason to vote for a specific candidate. You have a right to be passionate if you’re voting for emotional reasons, but please don’t. This election will have a historic outcome regardless of who wins the White House. If the Democratic Party wins, Barack Obama will be the first bi-racial candidate to achieve the Nations highest office. If the Republicans win then Sarah Palin will be the first woman to become second in command and perhaps assume the top slot some day.

Emotion aside, there is duty to casting your ballot, the electorate’s charge is to vote for whom, in your estimation, is the best candidate for the particular office. Common sense and knowledge of a candidate’s record will suggest the likely course this person will take on all issues affecting the course of this Nation. That should be the determining factor as your voting duty is to vote for the candidate most likely to preserve the intent of the founders of this great nation.

On one hand we have a candidate in Barack Obama that has little record from which to discern his ACTUAL stance. He speaks a different line depending on what group he is speaking to. His voting record is rife with “PRESENT” votes; does anyone know what his true positions are?

On the other hand we have a candidate in Senator John McCain that has spoken consistently and has a CLEAR voting record. His record suggests that his philosophy is not much different from Senator Obama’s, however we know where he stands and the likely course of his administration.

A lot of us don’t like either candidate and we must wait four more years before having another choice. I’m good with that, however at the very least, I would like the country to remain on the current trend rather than swing so far to the left that it would take generations to undo the damage our rights and freedoms will take under Barack Obama.

Think about these excerpts from Connecticut’s Waterbury Republican

  • “The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all” John Kennedy

  • “Always vote for principal, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost” John Quincy Adams

  • “If you have been voting for politicians who promise to give you goodies at someone else’s expense, then you have no right to complain when they take your money and give it to someone else, including themselves” Thomas Sowell

  • “Every election is a sort of advance auction sale of stolen goods” H.L. Mencken

  • Democrats are the only reason to vote for Republicans” Will Rogers

Please vote responsibly.

Campaign Spending Truth

According to a report out today Barack Obama and John McCain, together have raised almost $1,000,000,000, and the “candidates” have spent $8 per vote during the campaign so far.

What is misleading (what else is new) is that Barack Obama has spent OVER $5 per vote to reach potential voters, while John McCain has spent UNDER $3 per vote. As Obama has out raised and spent almost twice as much as John McCain, those figures are no surprise.

John McCain is campaigning with public funds, thus limiting what he could raise privately.
Barack Obama after PROMISING to campaign with public funds, renaged (as usual) because he found that the special interests backing him had deep pockets and he could “BUY” the vote!

So much for government by the people.

Momentum

Momentum is on our side for the near future, but beware! When Obama said the country isn’t going to make a sudden turn to the hard left if he were elected it wasn’t meant to say relax, I’m not a hard leftist. Obama’s record is more to the left than the announced socialist in the US Senate, Bernie Sanders of Vermont!

What Obama meant was that the momentum of our government wouldn’t allow an immediate hard left shift. That it would take time to get legislation passed that would move us deeper and deeper into socialism, and more time to stack the courts with Federal Judges that share his agenda. Time to make appointments to the Supreme Court, not with constitutional scholars but socialist judges who believe, as he does, that the constitution is a “flawed” document!

Make no mistake, Obama has promised that he will move this country away from capitalism to socialism as fast as he can. God forbid, if Obama is elected, that Democrats gain a 2/3 majority in congress, allowing any and all left wing legislation to pass unhindered by conservative Republicans, as they would be powerless to stop it.
